Open at the source ↗Vega Vault is a free and fun Earth-based catalog of declassified UAP records, built to encourage curiosity, learning, and civic engagement. It maps the public archives of UAP reporting on an interactive 3D globe: declassified government files, official investigations, and verified research databases. Every record cites its source.
It is a non-commercial project for the public good. The records are shown for educational, editorial, and entertainment purposes. Displaying a record does not imply its source endorses Vega Vault.

By accessing or using Vega Vault ("Vega Vault", "we", "us"; operated by The Vega Vault Project), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by the Privacy, Cookies & Data Processing practices in Section 8. You also agree to the terms of the third-party services we rely on, listed in Section 7. If you do not agree, do not use Vega Vault.
Vega Vault is a free tool for exploring public records and cultural and educational content on a map — drawn from public-domain and openly-licensed sources, and from public records reproduced under fair use with attribution. Content may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate and is provided for general information only. Vega Vault is not professional advice of any kind and creates no professional relationship. Verify anything important against its original source before relying on it.
An account is optional and only needed to save (star) items. You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration details, the security of your credentials, and all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts used to abuse the service. Vega Vault is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13; do not create an account if you are under 13.
Content you submit (posts, listings, suggestions, corrections, issue reports, chat messages) may be reviewed, edited, published, or declined at our discretion. Do not submit confidential, personal, or case-identifying information about children or families. You represent that you have the right to share what you submit, and you grant The Vega Vault Project a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, adapt, and distribute your submissions within Vega Vault.
Do not misuse Vega Vault: no scraping at disruptive volume, no automated access that burdens the service, no attempts to access other users' data or our systems without authorization, and no unlawful, infringing, harassing, or deceptive use. We may rate-limit, block, or remove content or access to protect the service and its users.
Parts of Vega Vault use artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs). Four things you encounter are AI-generated: the ARCHIVIST chat assistant; the plain-language summary on every record card, which is an automated distillation of that record's own source text; the UAP news summaries; and, for sources not published in English, the English card text shown by default — a Vega Vault translation, with the original-language source text one toggle away. The original is the record; the translation is our derivative of it.
AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or entirely fabricated. It can misstate dates, places, agencies, case numbers, findings, or links, and a summary can flatten or distort what a document actually says. It is provided for convenience only, is not legal, professional, or investigative advice, and is never a substitute for the underlying record. Every record on Vega Vault cites its source and links to it: if something matters to you, read the source document rather than relying on our summary of it. Do not enter confidential or personal information into the chat assistant.
To provide these features, your chat prompts and related content are sent to our AI processor, Anthropic (Claude) (Usage Policy), and processed under its terms. Card summaries and translations are generated ahead of time during our build, not from anything you type.
Vega Vault embeds, links to, and is operated using third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices; your use of them is governed by their own terms, linked below.

What we collect: if you create an account — your email address, your saved (starred) items, and any issue reports or submissions you make. We may measure anonymous, aggregate usage. We do not sell personal data and do not serve third-party advertising.
How it's processed: accounts and saved data are stored with Supabase (our database/auth provider); the app is served by Netlify and Cloudflare. Sign-in with Google shares only your email and basic profile per Google's consent screen. AI features send your prompts to the processors named in Section 6.
Cookies & local storage: we use browser local storage for session tokens, UI preferences (layout, dark mode), and cached lists. No third-party advertising cookies.
Your choices: to access or delete your account and data, contact team@vegavault.io.

No endorsement. Vega Vault reproduces, links, and displays records held by government archives, agencies, and public institutions. Their appearance here does not imply that any agency, government, institution, or author endorses Vega Vault, the way we present their material, or any interpretation of it. We present these records for non-commercial, educational, editorial, and entertainment purposes — to engage the public in the sciences and civics. Vega Vault is not monetized and carries no advertising. Any errors are ours.
Rights & takedown: Vega Vault reproduces public records and cites and links each record to its source. Rights-holders may request removal or correction of any material at team@vegavault.io; we act promptly on valid requests.
Vega Vault and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Vega Vault will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any resource, link, or AI output is accurate or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Vega Vault Project and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Vega Vault or any linked resource or third-party service. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your submissions or your misuse of Vega Vault.
We may update these terms as Vega Vault matures; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current revision. Material changes will be reflected here, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
