By accessing or using VegaVault ("VegaVault", "we", "us"; operated by The VegaVault Project), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by the Privacy, Cookies & Data Processing practices in Section 8. You also agree to the terms of the third-party services we rely on, listed in Section 7. If you do not agree, do not use VegaVault.
VegaVault is a free tool for exploring open, public-domain and openly-licensed cultural and educational content on a map. Content may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate and is provided for general information only. VegaVault is not professional advice of any kind and creates no professional relationship. Verify anything important against its original source before relying on it.
An account is optional and only needed to save (star) items. You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration details, the security of your credentials, and all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts used to abuse the service. VegaVault is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13; do not create an account if you are under 13.
Content you submit (posts, listings, suggestions, corrections, issue reports, chat messages) may be reviewed, edited, published, or declined at our discretion. Do not submit confidential, personal, or case-identifying information about children or families. You represent that you have the right to share what you submit, and you grant The VegaVault Project a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, adapt, and distribute your submissions within VegaVault.
Do not misuse VegaVault: no scraping at disruptive volume, no automated access that burdens the service, no attempts to access other users' data or our systems without authorization, and no unlawful, infringing, harassing, or deceptive use. We may rate-limit, block, or remove content or access to protect the service and its users.
Parts of VegaVault use artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs) — including the chat assistant, AI-generated news summaries, and automated discovery of free-item, volunteer, and job listings. AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or entirely fabricated; it can misstate facts, contacts, statistics, eligibility, or links. It is provided for convenience only, is not legal, medical, financial, or casework advice, and should be independently verified before you rely on it. Do not enter confidential, personal, or case-identifying information about children or families into the chat assistant. To provide these features your prompts and related content are sent to our AI processors — Anthropic (Claude) (Usage Policy) and Voyage AI — and processed under their terms.
VegaVault embeds, links to, and is operated using third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices; your use of them is governed by their own terms, linked below.

What we collect: if you create an account — your email address, your saved (starred) items, and any issue reports or submissions you make. We may measure anonymous, aggregate usage. We do not sell personal data and do not serve third-party advertising.
How it's processed: accounts and saved data are stored with Supabase (our database/auth provider); the app is served by Netlify and Cloudflare. Sign-in with Google shares only your email and basic profile per Google's consent screen. AI features send your prompts to the processors named in Section 6.
Cookies & local storage: we use browser local storage for session tokens, UI preferences (layout, dark mode), and cached lists. No third-party advertising cookies.
Your choices: to access or delete your account and data, contact inquiries@vegavault.io.
Content is drawn from open, public-domain and openly-licensed sources, each of which carries its own license and attribution. These sources do not endorse VegaVault, and any errors are ours. See Credits for attributions and license terms.
VegaVault and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that VegaVault will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any resource, link, or AI output is accurate or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The VegaVault Project and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, VegaVault or any linked resource or third-party service. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your submissions or your misuse of VegaVault.
We may update these terms as VegaVault matures; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current revision. Material changes will be reflected here, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
